Vail Family Adventure Challenge Offers Mini-Survivor, Kids-style

If getting kids outside helps them survive, they’ll feel right at home in Vail Aug. 17 at the Vail Family Adventure Challenge, occurring alongside the official try-outs for TV’s “Survivor.”

Kids of all ages will have a fun chance to complete their summer checklist by participating in the event, held in conjunction the popular TV try-outs. While watching entrants get ready for their big moment in the audition, the Family Adventure Challenge activities are designed to reflect the excitement of the try-out atmosphere, while giving families a fun time in the outdoors.

HulaHoopVail Family Adventure Challenge highlights include the Water Balloon Toss of Death, Escape from Babagoza, Hula-Hoopalooza and the Great American Apple Stack contest.

The entire day of activities is free for all, offering the bonus of being able to watch producers from CBS4 host casting call try-outs for the reality show Survivor. In all, 300 competitors, including several local residents, will be getting a chance to show producers why they should be chosen. The prospective reality TV stars will gather from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Solaris Plaza where they’ll be recording a one-minute video audition.
